SELECTED PROJECT
Nigeria Peace Project
Program Objective:
The goal of this project is to contribute to promoting harmonious co-existence amongst religious and tribal groups in Plateau State of Nigeria.

Component 1: Conflict Dialogue and Analysis
Under this component, inter religious and inter ethnic stakeholders have been convened to identify, understand and work towards resolving the conflict in Plateau State.

Component 2: Synthesis of Reports of Judicial Commission of Inquiry
This component builds synergy and harmonizes the reports of seven Judicial Commissions of Inquiry. It studied and analyzed these reports and recommendations as a basis for a holistic understanding of the intricacies and complexities of the conflicts. The report is due to be published in October.

Component 3: Healing and Forgiveness
The premise behind this component is that if psychological wounds of victims are not healed, they are more likely to become perpetrators of crime down the road. Thus, this component will convoke several community based/grassroots healing and forgiveness sessions that will facilitate the transition from personal process of forgiveness towards group processes of reconciliation.
